Howell, 64, of 47 Glenn Drive, a 30-year business manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, died Wednesday in Springfield's Baystate Medical Center. He represented employees of New England Telephone Co. He had worked for NET for 10 years.

Born in Springfield, he lived here for many years. He HOWELL was graduated from Springfield's former Technical High School, and attended Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. He was a Hampden County deputy sheriff, a New England Telephone Pioneer, and a member of the American Legion.

He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus's Indian Orchard Council. He leaves his wife, the former Pauline G. Napolitan, and three sons, Richard J. and John at home, and Army Lt. Douglas P.

She was graduated from the Rutland, School of Nursing in 1940, and later moved to Amherst.

Houlihan, 77, of 99 Miller a retired regional' distribution manager for the Postal Service, died Wednesday at home. He was also a five-year superintendent of mail in Springfield, a former city policeman and fireman, and chaired the city's OffStreet Parking Commission. Born here, he was a lifelong resident, and was graduated from Cathedral HOULIHAN High School in 1933. He was a 14th Air Force veteran of World War II, and had flown with the famed American Volunteer Group in China. He served in both the American and Asiatic-Pacific theaters.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Church, and a past president of its Holy Name Society. He also served as a lector and ecumenical minister, and captained the church's annual Stewardship Appeal for 34 years. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus's Arch- Helen F. Leonard LONGMEADOW Helen F. (Connelly) Leonard, 74, of 74 Cambridge Circle, a teacher's assistant in the White Plains, N.Y., public schools, died Tuesday in Springfield's Mercy Hospital.

She was also a singer and dancer, and had appeared in vaudeville shows and the famous Ziegfeld Follies.
