TheLGBTQ+population(still) encounters several barriersinobtaining high-qualityhealthcareandsuffersfromworsehealthandmental healthresultsincomparisontoheterosexualandcisgenderindividuals (whosegenderidentificationalignswiththesexgivenatbirth). Researchonthementalhealthneedsofsexualminoritiesandthefactorscontributingtomentalhealthinequalitiesisexpandingquickly,particularlyinrelationtotheimplicationsforpolicyandmentalhealthoutcomes.

During an interesting research conversation about treating adolescents who suffer from psychosis, I uncovered that psychologicallytreatingadolescentswithpsychosiscanbe advantageousby employingage-appropriateinterventions,suchascognitive remediation therapy, psychoeducational,familytherapy, andgrouppsychotherapy. However, a significantproportionofteenagers whomeetthe criteriaformentalhealthissuesdonotobtaintreatment,andalmosthalfofthosewhodoreceivetreatmentdiscontinueit. Thissheds light on whether or not these treatment plans are beneficialprocedures fromthe viewpointofyoungcustomers.
