Very topical conversation right now. Take a look at a useful guide by Allie K. Miller to help benchmark where your organisation is with Gen AI.I like the points on Ahead for Talent. Mobility of AI talent across organisation, upskilling current employees and adding AI qualifications to JDs.What else does looking ahead look like and the role of HR?

I just had the pleasure of participating in a thought-provoking panel discussion on the potential of AI and its benefits for HR at the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) NSW Conference. Here are my quick takeaways with a little help from Otter.ai A key insight was the importance of experimenting through small, high-impact pilots rather than broad initiatives. Focusing test cases on tangible use cases directly tied to business goals can yield learnings to inform future application. Capturing outcomes from initial pilots also allows refinement of one's approach over time.Ensuring diverse viewpoints through techniques like personas further supports creating inclusive impact. Addressing employee concerns and building knowledge through open communication additionally eases change management.Tools like natural language processing and predictive analytics offer exciting ways to enhance the employee experience when guided properly. A focus on augmenting rather than automating roles may further unlock AI's benefits for both individuals and the broader organization.I appreciate the chance to connect with peers advancing this important discussion. The session reinforced AI's tremendous possibilities when approached strategically and with empathy for all stakeholders. I look forward to continuing these conversations and exploring further use cases within my own work.A big thanks to my fellow panelist’s Justine Cooper FCIPD FCPHR and Dr. Michael G. Kollo as well as our moderator Rhonda Brighton-Hall FCPHR #AHRIEvents #AHRINSW #HRNetwork #AISkills #PeopleAnalyticsAlso I strongly advise reading Dave Ulrich recent 10 item assessment to evaluate how your Hr function is doing regarding AI. https://lnkd.in/g8Gvcytv

Another great start to Day 2 of the People Analytics & HR Data Summit.I just finished listening to Rio Tinto's head of people analytics, Kirsten Edwards, who shared their journey transforming employee listening through the use of AI. Faced with over 57,000 survey respondents annually, traditional analysis of open comments proved limited and prone to bias. By applying natural language processing and machine learning, Rio Tinto was able to gain deeper insights at scale. Early experiments with generative AI also surfaced previously unknown issues. However, proper governance structures were needed before widespread adoption.Lessons learned include starting small with controlled pilots, prioritizing privacy and security approvals. Bringing in consultants with both technical and domain expertise also accelerated progress. Moving forward, Rio Tinto aims to educate leaders on the importance of data quality for AI success. Storytelling will also be key to communicate new insights gained from tracking comment trends over time. As organizations increasingly rely on employee voice, AI shows promise to augment traditional methods with more objective and comprehensive understanding - if balanced with the right focus on governance, expertise and stakeholder communication.#PeopleAnalytics #HRData #AI #EmployeeListening

Although useful, don't get too bogged down in maturity models. Go straight to answering the questions of value for key business stakeholders. This is elegantly articulated by Thomas Hedegaard Rasmussen, Mike Ulrich, & Dave Ulrich in their paper "Moving People Analytics From Insight to Impact"Go check out their guidance framework! link: https://lnkd.in/erXJCfrV#frominsighttoimpact#peopleanalyticsLink: https://lnkd.in/erXJCfrV
